Q: How do I know which size sight to use for my shotgun?
A: Click on our "Gun Chart" above.
Q: Does TRUGLO offer front bead replacements for shotguns?
A: Yes. We make various styles of front beads in five thread sizes. Click on
our "Gun Chart" to find the size you need.
Q: How do I remove my original shotgun bead?"
A: Most beads can be removed by turning them counterclockwise like a screw.
There are a few beads that are press fit (like the Remington 870 Express),
which require tapping. If you are uncertain, please contact the gun
manufacturer.
Q: How do TRUGLO sights mount to my gun?
A: We offer a variety of mounts including tapes, magnets and screws. In
addition, we have a patented "Slide-Lok" system, which uses none of the
above (see our "Tru-Point" sights).
Q: Does TRUGLO offer sights for plain shotgun barrels?
A: Yes. We make sights for 10, 12, 20 and .410 gauge plain barrels. See our
Glo·Dot II, which snaps securely in place behind your existing front bead.
Q: Does TRUGLO offer sights for slug barrels?
A: Yes. We make sights for Remington, Winchester and other
manufacturers.
Q: Does TRUGLO offer sights for tapered or non-ventilated shotgun ribs?
A: Yes. Our "Glo·Dot" and "Gobble·Dot" sights are universal and mount on top
of the rib, eliminating any sizing problems. They are ideal for
double-barrel and O/U shotguns.
Q: Does TRUGLO offer sights for muzzleloaders with a dovetail mount?
A: Yes. Our "Muzzle-Brite Xtreme" sights come with dovetail locks that
accommodate the screws for secure mounting. Also, our "Pro·Series Magnum Muzzle Dot"
sights are made model specific.
Q: Does TRUGLO offer sights for octagonal barrels?
A: Yes. Our "Illuminator" (TG97B) is specifically designed for octagonal
barrels. Some of the "Pro·Series Magnum Muzzle Dot" will fit specific
octagonal muzzleloaders by Thompson/Center, Connecticut Valley Arms, Lyman
and Traditions. We also offer the Hawken Bright Sight (TG955) for most
octagonal barrels.
Q: When installing a front and rear sight set, where should the rear sight
be mounted?
A: In general, the rear sight should be mounted to create as much distance
as possible between the front and rear sights, while still being able to
properly mount the rear sight to the rib.
Q: What do I do with the rubber pieces included in the
"Pro·Series Magnum
Gobble Dot?"
A: The rubber squares can be used as a shim on slightly undersized ribs or
as a protective cover for the rib.
Q: Do I need to clean the rib before using the double-sided epoxy tape?
A: It is best to clean the rib with a small amount of rubbing alcohol prior
to applying the tape.
Q: When cleaning my gun, can cleaning solvents be applied to TRUGLO's
sights?
A: Although we have developed our sights to be as strong and chemical
resistant as possible, it is best to protect the sight when using chemical
solvents.
Q: What kinds of shot can TRUGLO choke tubes use?
A: All TRUGLO's turkey choke tubes accept, "Hevi-Shot," lead, bismuth or
copper-plated shot. Do not use tungsten or steel in any turkey choke tube.
The "Titan" will accept steel, tungsten and other popular
waterfowl loads. (When using these loads in the "Titan," do not use a
setting tighter than "modified.")
Q: What is the constriction or inside diameter of TRUGLO's choke tubes?
A: This information is listed next to each model. Please see "Choke Tubes"
under "Products."
Q: What size shot loads should I use in TRUGLO's turkey choke tubes?
A: Results will vary depending on the specific choke tube, the shotgun and
the type of shell. In general, the best test patterns where achieved using Nos.
4, 5 or 6 with a 1 3/4 ounce load in a 3" shell.
